About the Event
ACM BPDC hosted an engaging session titled “Behind the Scenes of ChatGPT: How It Thinks, Talks, and Learns”on Tuesday, 4th November 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Lab 336. The talk was delivered by Aurangzeb A.K, Data Scientist at Saal.ai, who took participants through the fascinating world of artificial intelligence and the technology that powers ChatGPT.
The session unpacked how Transformers and Large Language Models (LLMs) work behind the scenes to understand prompts, process language, and generate responses that sound remarkably human. Attendees explored core ideas such as attention mechanisms, embeddings, fine-tuning, and prompt engineering, all explained in a way that bridged technical understanding with real-world insight.
Beyond the algorithms, the talk also reflected on the ethical challenges of AI, including issues like bias and misinformation, and discussed how responsible design can make these systems more transparent and trustworthy.
Open to all members of the BITS community, the event proved to be both informative and interactive. Participants received free certificates, and to make the learning experience even more enjoyable, there were free donuts for everyone.
