About the Event
ACM BPDC will be conducting its ACM Talk on Semantic Search in collaboration with the Computer Science Department on Friday, 21st March 2024. This session will be led by Ricardo Baeza-Yates, a distinguished researcher from Palo Alto, CA, United States, who will provide valuable insights into the advancements in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing.
Semantic search stands at the crossroads of information retrieval and natural language processing, shaping the next frontier of search technology. Baeza-Yates will discuss how AI-driven search systems predict query intent, extract entities and concepts using knowledge bases, and employ semantic ranking to enhance search accuracy. Through multi-stage machine learning models, this approach refines search results across different languages and data sources.
This event will be open to all students and faculty, offering a unique opportunity to explore AI-driven search innovations and their real-world applications. ACM BPDC looks forward to an engaging discussion that bridges academic knowledge with cutting-edge industry advancements.
